Authentic Brazilian Wish Bands are a 200-year-old fashion accessory from Bahia, Brazil.
These brightly coloured ribbon-like bands wrap around your left wrist.
Tie each one with 3 knots and make 3 wishes (one for each knot); one knot is for health, one is for success and one is for love!
They can also be worn on ankles, hats, bags and even used as home decor
The bands are essentially meant to be a reminder of your hopes, goals and desires.
The colours of the bracelet are thought to bring out the characteristics of that colour.
The colour meaning chart below are also the colours that are available to purchase through stelitsa home.
It is said that the wearer must wait until the bracelet naturally wears off, once it does, your 3 wishes will come true. It is considered bad luck to cut the bands off.
The available bands (images 1 & 2 ) are 100% cotton, soft to wear and can be worn in water, including the shower.
They are 12 inches (30.5 cms) in length and have the traditional spiritual text in Portuguese - 'Lembranca De Nossa Senhora Apararecida' (Our Lady of Aparecida)', who is the Patroness of Brazil - enscribed on them.
Handmade in Brazil.

A little story to take, treasure and tell
The bands were originally called Fitas or Bonfim Ribbons. They were silk with writing done by hand in silver or with ink. They were worn as a necklace where medallions and holy images were hung. It is unknown how the tradition began but thought to have come from the African beliefs that had influenced Brazilian customs.
